Give it a rest. It is never okay to hold someone on such a high pedestal. I hope the parents and grandparents of Kellogs- when their teenage/young adult kids & grandkids make a stupid twenty something mistake someone is more forgiving of their children unlike the sympahty they have shown for Michael Phelps. Parents can’t leave celebrities to raise their kids. Help your children understand that he made a mistake and that at your age you made similar mistakes. And to look at this as a learned lesson for yourself when you get to be his age. I believe the expression is.. “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone”.
On another note- as not to sound like a hypocrite- I don’t believe his mistake was smoking the marijuana but being so naive to believe there are people out there- and at this party- that wouldn’t want to make money off of tarnishing his reputation. That is a way more important lesson- for anyone, not just celebrities- everyone is not looking out for your best interest.
